In
1991 I taught classes in writing and literature through the Division
of Continuing Education at the University
of New England's Westbrook campus (then called Westbrook College).
The courses were small (about 15 students each) and predominantly women.
A collaborative, process-based approach was taken in both English 1
(expository writing) and English 2 (writing about literature).
